Nokia deployed 5g SA industrial wireless private network automation mining 4K video remote control

On August 3, 2020, Nokia announced that it will provide Sandvik with 5g SA industrial grade private network. With advanced technologies such as high-performance network and edge computing, Nokia will enhance mine connectivity, support cloud based scheduling, and move forward to industry 4.0 and accelerate mining digitization!

Recently, Nokia announced that Sandvik mining and rock technology will deploy Nokia 5g SA industrial wireless private network in its test mine in Tampere, Finland.

We learned that 5g SA private network based on Nokia digital automation cloud (DAC) can enhance communication and connectivity of mine equipment, and will be applied to Sandvik mining and rock technology to test, develop and prototype mining solutions for global customers.

Nokia 5g SA industrial wireless private network enables fast, reliable and secure voice and video communications in challenging mining environments. Its 5g functionality will also be used to automate the mining process, enabling remote machine operation via 4K video connections between deep underground and ground control centers.

Nokia digital automation cloud (DAC) can be expanded as needed. It is an industrial level digital automation service platform, which can provide reliable, safe and high-performance wireless private network.

DAC is a compact, plug and play system, including network equipment and cloud based operation monitoring system. With Nokia DAC, users can safely collect, process and host all private data generated on site.
